EAPR Aims
The aims of the EAPR are:
-
To promote the exchange between various countries, both in and outside Europe, of scientific and technical information relating to all aspects of potato breeding, production protection and utilization;
-
To encourage and assist international cooperation in these fields.
Sections
The EAPR activities focus around five sections that perform the invaluable function of promoting research and knowledge exchange within specific scientific disciplines. The five sections are Breeding and Varietal Assessment; Agronomy and Physiology; Pathology and Pests; Virology, and Post-Harvest. The EAPR sections meet regularly to discuss problems and results of research. They set up working groups for the study of special problems, for standardizing methods of research or terminology.
Triennial Conferences
Every three years, the EAPR organizes a major international conference in a different European country. During the triennial conferences, keynotes talks from internationally recognised scientists, research papers and posters are presented and there are workshops and scientific excursions. The conferences offer the opportunity for those interested in the potato crop to meet colleagues from all over the world, engaged in every type of work relating to the potato crop. The previous meeting (21st Triennial Conference of the EAPR) was held in 2022 in Krakow, Poland while the next (22nd Triennial Conference of the EAPR) will take place in Oslo, Norway in July 2024.
